Prime Minister Imran Khan had a telephonic conversation with the business tycoon and philanthropist Bill Gates yesterday and they both spoke about the global pandemic COVID-19. Gates acknowledged that the efforts done against coronavirus in Pakistan are praiseworthy.
PM mentioned that Pakistan is battling with COVID-19 in two way- one is the virus itself and the second one is the repercussions from the lockdown and increase in hunger and poverty level in the country. $8 billion relief package has been designed by the government to help those people amid crisis which includes daily wagers and small business owners who have been hit hard because of the lockdown.
However, Pakistan is using a robust approach to tackle the issues as per the PM. Also Bill Gates and Imran Khan talked about the recent discoveries and developments of the virus. PM also thanked Gates and his wife for their foundation to support international organisations.
The both figures have mutual views regarding the issue of polio and how to eliminate it. The polio teams are helping health workers on the issue of coronavirus too. They both agree that polio vaccines are top health priorities.
